Has the Ryobi One Plus platform gotten Out of hand let's find out [Music] We've got two new Ryobi batteries and a Ryobi charger let's take a closer look Well we've got a couple of new products Here from Ryobi three specifically uh Two new batteries and a charger now it's Hard to not notice the batteries because They are they're not small but at the Same time they're not meant to be small These are not compact batteries meant to Go in a small impact driver to get in Tight spaces these are Big Eight amp Hour and 12 amp hour 18 volt batteries Meant to run things for a long time Things such as like an air cannon or the Cooler that they just released the the Battery powered cooler which is an Awesome product with that eight amp hour And 12 amp hour we ran that cooler for More than 25 hours on these two Batteries here so something like that These bigger batteries these larger Batteries larger capacity as well as More output these that's a perfect Scenario for these larger batteries like That again you're not going to use them On your common tools and by the way they Are a bit larger in The Wider aspect as Well as taller because these do use the New 21 700 style cells or newer 21700 Style cells and again they are not just A bigger cell but they also can output
More as well as they have more capacity In the battery also now still going to Fit all of your OnePlus tools as long as Uh you know space permits to fit these But as far as the same style of the OnePlus 18 volt battery batteries the 12 Amp hour and the 8 Amp Hour are going to Fit that same gauge here on the front Tell you whether we're charged or not And looking at the 8 Amp Hour battery You can easily do this math but Basically we've got eight amp hours We've got 18 volts if we multiply 18 Times 8 we're going to get 144 Watt Hours out on the 12 amp hour same thing If we multiply 12 times 18 we're going To get 216 Watt hours out so that's basically Your max output as far as capacity goes For these batteries and what does that Mean pretty simple it means at 144 Watt Hours out this will power something That's drawing 144 Watts for one hour The 216 Watts it would power something That draws 216 Watts for a solid hour Now there's obviously going to be some Efficiency loss in there but for the Most part art that's your math on these Batteries Now with these batteries You'll get a three year warranty when You purchase them the eight amp hour is Going to run you a hundred and seventy Nine dollars and the 12 amp hour is Going to run you
239 dollars now the other elephant in The room not really because it's not That much bigger than the 12 amp hour Battery but this new charger I think This is the most overlooked tool and Most contractors mechanics you name it If you're in the trades and use tools I Think the charger is the most overlooked Tool or piece of equipment out there Because I think everybody's focused on Batteries they're focused on tools and They forget about the charger and I Think you really need to look at Chargers and especially the the Efficiency of some newer and kind of Upgraded Chargers and it will make your Life a lot easier as well as more Efficient because you won't be waiting On batteries and also be careful on just Grabbing a two Port charger or a dual Port charger or or multi-port charger You need to look and how those operate Look at the amp output and how fast they Will charge batteries because sometimes It just splits their capability across Two bays and you're really not doubling The time all you're doing is adding the Ability to throw two on there and leave It and it'll charge it which that may be Absolutely fine anyway let's get to this One this is ryobi's fastest charger so Far this is what they're calling their 8 Amp rapid charger it's really not Drawing eight amps off of 120 volts but
They're calling it their eight amp rapid Charger and basically the performance Side of this is it will charge that 12 Amp hour battery from zero to fully Charged in just an hour and a half now No other Ryobi charger will even come Close to that it will charge this eight Amp hour battery in just one hour and It'll charge a six amp hour and 45 Minutes and a four amp hour in just 30 30 minutes so a flat Dead 4 amp hour Battery is going to charge that in 30 Minutes is quite quick so we'll listen Here let's put this in You probably don't hear that because It's rather quiet but there's a fan Right here obviously you can see this Grade or this Grille and it's actually Blowing out here so what it's doing it's Actually circulating air through this Keeping all the electronics nice and Cool while it's charging that at that Fast rate see we have a blinking green Light here so obviously we have the Indicator map here or the key here Telling us what those flashing and solid Lights mean but again in an hour we're Going to have a fully charged eight amp Hour battery and by the way this charger Can be wall mounted as well so it Doesn't have to just sit flat obviously It can sit flat you also get a USB a Charger here and a USB type-c charger as Well so you can charge your smart
Devices or your smartphone your cell Phone right there from the charger this Is also going to include a three year Warranty and it's only 89 and as I Mentioned probably one of the most Overlooked tools out there Take a serious look if you're in the Ryobi platform at buying this charger Because I think you'd be very happy with This and you won't be waiting on Batteries like you have been I do want To give you an idea of size and of Weight on these batteries and this 12 Amp hour take a look here that's a Little over five almost five and a half Inches long and width on it is about Three and three quarter inches wide Maybe three and five eighths inches wide And to the tip of the post almost six Inches tall And as far as weight three and a half Pounds three pounds seven ounces just For the 12 amp hour battery so not a Light battery whatsoever but I don't Think you'd expect it to be And we'll go ahead and weigh the eight Amp hour two pounds eight ounces so Pretty much a solid pound lighter than The 12 amp hour but still a heavy Battery at two and a half pounds And the size on this Is going to be about five and a quarter Inches long About four and three quarter inches tall
