Have you heard of the ratchet [Music] Knob we posted a quick video of this Little ratchet accessory on social media And our Tik Tok and Instagram channels Went through millions of views on this Video and people were going crazy about This and of course they always have good And bad things to say but regardless we Thought you know what we better do a Longer video on this and uh talk to the Manufacturer as well which by the way This is not a sponsored video we Purchased uh the mw1 and the MW2 by the Way they make these for the Milwaukee Ratchets as well as the Snap-on ratchets And it looks like they're also going to Be releasing uh some of these for the DeWalt ratchets as well price on these Is rather cheap as well so it's not Expensive to get into these and by the Way I just want to address you may have Seen the thumbnail and don't like to do A lot of uh clickbait if you will and Looks like these may be coming to the USA being made in the USA as early as March so that would be next month right Now it's the middle of February so They're hoping that by March they're Actually manufacturing these in the USA There's also a patent pending on these Also let's get started take a closer Look at them no this is not a Milwaukee Video per se so it's not about the

Milwaukee ratchets it's about the Ratchet knobs but anyway we have several Generations of the Rat ratchets here We're going to see if the two ratchet Knobs will fit on all of these or not And take a closer look at kind of how They work and how they're made um as Well as some other options that maybe The actual tool manufacturer may have as Well so this is the ratchet knob or These are the ratchet knobs and these Are made to fit on battery powered Ratchets now these two specifically it's The mw1 and the MW2 they are meant to uh be used with Milwaukee ratchets and several Generations we'll show you here in a Moment they also make these I believe For uh Snap-on and also they're coming Out with the DeWalt as well so right now It's Milwaukee and Snap-on but soon to Be DeWalt now these are made of aluminum And look like a really highgrade uh all The edges are nice and chamford so There's no sharp edges at all so really Good Machining job there and then looks Like either anodized or it's probably Anodized not powder coated but you can Get them in black or you can get them in Red in each of the series or each of the Different sizes or model numbers you can Get them or black or red uh don't know Of any other colors at the moment now as You can see when I flip this over I

Think you can see how this works there's Two rare earth magnets or Neo lidin or Whatever the proper name is I'll flash That up on the screen U magnets here so Very strong maget magnets uh that will Hold this to the tool but not Permanently Bond it so it's not only Easy to attach but it's also easy to Remove now here's the idea of this when You're working on vehicles and you're Working with these uh battery powered Ratchets and we'll talk about the Milwaukee here at the moment by the way This is the model number 2557 I believe this was the first Version of the fuel ratchet so there was A version before these there were Non-fuel so no brushless motor but this Was the first version of the fuel Series So the 2557 this is the 38 drive and you Can see here uh to actually switch Directions on the ratchet it's not inset But it's just barely flush with the top Of this ratchet so it may protrude Just A Touch which is great to stay out of The way but it's a pain to actually Switch now with your bare fingers you Can get in there and do it but put a Pair of mechanics gloves on and it's Kind of a pain to get in there again not Going to take a long time but still to Fill around and make that switch it's Kind of a pain so the inventor of this Which has a patent pending patent on it

Uh thought you know what there is a Better way to do this and I believe he Said after five generations he came up With this now this is not sponsored at All as we mentioned by ratchet knob or By Milwaukee uh in fact we purchased These our our El I think all in to buy These two I believe was $26 $27 that was The $12 a piece shipping tax everything Uh to get to our door was like $26.98 or $27 probably throw up the receipt here Uh so again not a sponsored video but You can see here there's kind of a Larger one which is the Mw1 and the MW2 is the smaller And so again this is the 2557 the first Version of the M12 fuel the little one Will go on here and you can see it kind Of just kind of sticks right there with The magnet but as you get it over here In its place and spin it in the right Direction just kind of sits down on the Uh Inset Of that directional lever and you can See there's a a little bit of slop from You know rotation but as far as side Side there's also a little bit of slop There so that's the MW2 that's the Smaller well if I take the larger this Is on the 3/8 ratchet by the way and the 38 and a half in are the same size as Far as the ratchet head and now I find That place now there's very little slop

Side to side movement a little bit on The rotation so there's a little slop There but here's the idea so I'm Tightening I want to go to Lefty locy All I have to do is flip that knob just Like That reach down flip it up and easily Change directions Here so a really simple task now and so Some will argue well this is going to Get in the way just like there's uh Milwaukee actually has for the newer Versions of ratchets and I I'll show you Here in a moment in fact we'll just show It right here so uh once they went to a Uh to the extended reach and to the uh Highspeed ratchets they went to a Smaller Slimmer head as well and when They did that they also offered because Again we have it really flush there on The top of the head to change directions Was a pain they offered what they call The high-speed tall shift knob assembly So basically all they did they provided This with a snap ring which is a great Idea and that protrudes this up much Higher than it originally was now the Problem with that is you once you Install this it's always taller so it's Always going to be be protruding so There's no getting around that again Great option I believe if I'm not Mistaken I think this is like a 30 or $40 uh accessory or 30 or $40 part to

Change it out and you just basically Take out the snap ring and pull out the Internals and put this one in it it's Not a hard thing to do at All however once you do it it's Semi-permanent where with this if it is Getting in your way then you easily take This and stick it on the edge of your Toolbox and be on the go or just hold it In your hand till you get done with that Faster and then put it back on also if You kind of Miss align this a little Bit just hold it with one hand and it Will kind of sit down where it needs to Go so pretty cool that again I can take This and put it somewhere else or I can Put it back on the head so that's a Larger size is going to work on the a Little bit larger head on the 3/8 drive And the 1/2 in drive and as I mentioned There's the 1/ in which should be the 2558 yeah 2558 and this larger one yeah should sit On there and Now a lot slower Drive so let's move on and let's go to The extended reach so these are the Extended reach it may be the highs speed Yeah this is the highp speed extended Reach so the 25 69 and the larger one's Not going to fit on there but that's Where the MW2 comes into play and it Fits right in There a lot higher speed and again that

Same ease of switching Directions can reach up there with a Finger or reach up with this Finger to change those Directions so there's the 3/8 drive and Then here's the 1 quarter inch Drive of The same and there we have It And then here's the first extended reach Of the 38 drive and this was before the High-speed so this is the model number Of the 2560 and this is going to take the Larger so if it has a larger head on it The larger mw1 is going to work and on All the smaller Heads the MW2 and this is getting into this is the 2556 just the regular fuel Ratchet and then getting into the High-speed Models now that's the regular 38 drive And this is the regular quarter-inch Drive but a lot of these heads didn't [Applause] Change so basically if you have the Larger head you're going to need the Larger Knob and if you have the smaller head You're going to need the smaller Knob now here's the really cool thing I Actually once I purchased these I Actually chatted um with the I believe It's the owner and as I mentioned

There's a patent pending on this and by The way we also I believe we did a Tik Tock and an Instagram um reel of this a Couple of weeks ago and they went to Several million views on that got a lot Of traction so I've chatted a little bit With the owner and he mentioned Something to me and said that in March These will start being made in the USA Completely so that's really awesome uh Glad to hear that uh so love to see any Manufacturing coming right here to our Shores and uh so anyway I just thought We would share with this we we like when There's cool accessories and add-ons From like mindes that just uh dealt with A problem and created a solution for it And also something that is not expensive This little guy's 12 bucks again with Shipping and everything you might be at You know 13 14 $15 now you might hate it You might get this and absolutely hate It and it might get in the way of Everything you do but the bottom line is You're only in it for 15 bucks you Didn't drop $300 on something or even a 100 bucks so stick it on the side of Your toolbox and somebody will say what Is that and you can say here you can Have it but you know you can't get too Mad when you just spent um you know 10 20 bucks on something to try it out I Think you'll like it uh everybody that Sees this that I know are just really

Interested because they realize what a Pain it is uh to use their ratchets and They kind of dig in there especially When you have gloves on oh I did want to Mention something this has got the boot On it it does not work well with the Boot it will sit down in there in fact They recommend that it doesn't work with It um and you can see it rotates but you You can see right there it just kicked It off so there's just it's taking up Too much space right here for it to work Effectively so if you're running a boot On these you'll need to take them off For these to work Effectively hey if you like these things Uh we have a link in the description we Do not get anything off of that it's Linking straight to their website to Purchase these uh as we mentioned I Think they're like 12 bucks a piece and Allin uh between the two we're like 26.98 or $27 shipping tax everything so a cheap Little accessory for your ratchets and Maybe even a gift that you can buy as Well hey be sure to follow us on Instagram Facebook Twitter and even Tik Tok and if you don't mind would you hit That like And subscribe button if you Haven't done so already and by all means If you hated our video well give us a Thumbs down but let us know in the Comments why have a great day keep
