Milwaukee's M12 M Specter inspection Camera This is the Milwaukee 2323 and as we mentioned it runs on Their M12 battery platform and it's Their M12 M Specter inspection camera Comes with a four foot lead as well as Some other accessories let's go ahead And dive in and take a look at the Features on this and then we'll come Back and we'll talk about pricing about Warranty and what we feel about it we Have the Milwaukee 2323 which is the M12 M Specter and Get this out of here so you see we kind Of get the whole kit with an M12 battery And the inspector And a little bag of goodies we'll go Over that here in one moment So we get an M12 only charger Get a 2.0 2 Amp Hour M12 battery as I mentioned a Bag of goodies there are some Accessories we'll go over that here in a Moment and we get the m12m Specter now This is actually called the M Specter 360 inspection camera so we get pretty Much a borescope With a four foot lead on this And obviously a camera on the interior Runs on the M12 volt battery And also the screen here Can be widescreen sideways or it can go Vertical
Depending on how you want it or how you Are angled Almost do 360 degrees So you can set the screen however you Want to you can also rotate the screen Or actually rotate the image we'll show That here in a moment also control the Light on this as well and then we have Some different attachments we'll go over That here in one moment so power the Unit up just hit the power button Hold that down and that's going to power The unit up you see right now we have The light on and if I want to turn that Light off I can just hit the power Button momentarily and you see it tells Me the light percentage so right now is It that was at zero now it's at 25 Percent Now it's at 50 percent hit it again I'm At 75 percent and then again at 100 so I Have four different light settings in Addition to off so there's zero 25 50 75 And 100 so I can adjust the light Intensity and then as I mentioned I can Also rotate that screen so not only can I rotate it here but I can also right Here with a button Push that 180 then back to zero And if I turned it vertical again Rotate it So depending on what you're wanting to See And how you're wanting to see it
Because if you put this in a hole in the Wall sometimes that image is rotated Different than the way you're wanting to See it now if I wanted to take a picture I could easily just hit the picture Button here and that's going to snap a Picture and save it If I wanted to take a video hit the Video button and it's going to record You see again it's recording and then Hit it again and that's going to stop And save that now if I want to go into The gallery to actually see those images I can just hit that middle button and Now once I'm in this Gallery these Secondary icons here on these buttons And up here are now going to be into Place so now if I wanted to play this I Could hit the play button and play it And if I wanted to stop it I could hit That and if I wanted to actually Delete that I can hit the trash can Button and delete that go to the next Image go here say okay So it says I have to hit that twice There we go and so now it deletes that Hit the gallery button again and now I'm Back to our live image If I look here to the right of the tool On the right hand side of the screen There's a little rubber door here if I Open that up that's our micro SD card so That's where all your images are going To be saved and so if you want to pull
That out put it in your computer you can Do that but that's where your images are Going to be saved to You can take that out and again move That as you need it as we mentioned on The inspection camera Get a full four feet so we're four feet Right to there from the camera so full Four feet in length so whether you're Going up a wall or Up an intake manifold or somewhere in a Door Whatever you're needing to see You've got four foot of length to do That So we know we get the four foot lead on The actual scope or the inspection Camera and then as far as the size of This camera you're looking at right at 400 thousandths so less Than a half inch so a tenth less than a Half inch and then if you want to look At the kind of the length of the body of The main camera Right at one and a half 1.625 inches so One and five eighths of an inch for the Length of the hard spot of this camera But again as far as width goes or Diameter it's only uh four tenths of an Inch which is Much smaller than any spark plug hole to Actually fit in or you know any hole in A piece of drywall or something like That
And we'll Run it down the wall over here so right Now Let's give us some light a little more Light There we go So you can see we're looking down our Metal building wall and a lot of dirt There on the wood I want to flip that image again I can Take a picture I can do that but now Let's take a look at a couple of other Accessories here Let me turn that light off there we go So lights off so right here on the tip There's a couple little detents right Here at the base of the the camera and You can install these different Accessories so I can put this on and This is more of a camera guard or kind Of keeps you keeps you centered if you Want to go down a drain pipe or Something like that and again when you Put these on you can kind of put them on Anywhere but you want to put it on in a Way that it's going to lock into those Small detents on there and then it'll Keep that from wanting to pop off Kind of locks into those detents there Then another one we have is a hook so if You had something down in the hole and You wanted to retrieve a set of keys or Something like that where you could look Down and then hook onto that and then be
Able to pull that out you could do that With that hook so pretty cool accessory There Then another one would be this one here And this is a magnet So again We're going in We're trying to retrieve something so We're staring at the magnet but we can Also see around that magnet Grab our Milwaukee wrench So that's pretty cool because you look At that and you think well that's cool That we're on the end of the camera but We won't be able to see around it and Actually you can see pretty well around That magnet so you get a pretty good Peripheral around the magnet and then The mer the magnet is Direct on Where you can go in and say okay I'm Going to grab that And Pull that nut we just drop down the Intake manifold out of the cylinder and Then I think the question's probably Going to be asked most because how do we How do we look sideways does have a Sideways facing camera and the answer is No but we do have a 45 degree mirror That does the same thing So now we've got a little mirror there The now our image We can look that right down That wall
So you can see now we can see at 180 Degrees Of the camera And pretty clear image if you will as Well and you can see a little bit of Peripheral around the outside so Straight on and you can see that 180 Degree Reflection as well So Just to be clear you got a 45 degree Mirror which is going to turn into an 180 degree view I'm sorry a fort we've Got a 45 degree mirror which is going to Turn into a 90 degree view so I think I Was saying 180 but you get what I'm Saying basically a right angle to the Camera is what we're going to be seeing Now So that is really nice so down into a Cylinder and you want to see the top of The Piston obviously you're going to Take this off but you want to see the Cylinder walls we want to have that on So we can see sideways and see those Cylinder walls and see how well they are So I purposely chose a place that was a Little uh little dark over here and uh We've got our camera on we've got our Light on and I'm going to go in here One of these cylinders And Sorry when the shakiness stops here well You can see the cylinder heads are off
Of this we're looking at the top of that Piston And so we can see there's some carbon Build up on that piston and the cylinder Walls don't look exactly great either But probably been sitting a little while If I want to flip that screen again I Can Even if I wanted if I wanted to get a Little closer I can hit The magnify button And I can go one two times Three times and even four times Magnification Take that picture if I need to Then I can back back out to one times Magnification so there's a kind of an Open cylinder obviously we could be down Through a spark plug hole if we needed To but let's look over here on the next Cylinder and we're missing something There well I think there should be something in That hole there should be a piston down In there and we're not seeing a piston In fact I'm seeing the crankshaft and The next Rod there sitting on the crank Journal but let's find out why let's Take a look at those cylinder walls So I'm going to put on my mirror And Turn my light down to 25 percent And you can see right there we've got a
Big crack In the cylinder wall of that cylinder So right there A big crack Yeah there we go look at there yeah I Think we got a problem With our block I think Number two cylinder is gone So without pulling the heads we could Have easily seen that with something Like this right through This spark plug hole well this is a Great camera with a lot of features and We definitely like the different the Hooks uh the magnet as well as the 90 Degree mirror where we can see basically A 90 degree angle from the camera so you Can see the cylinder walls rather than The cylinder piston tops or if you're Looking up a wall you can see the actual Wall side or the inside of the wall Rather than up the wall cavity or Wherever you're looking in there as well As the ability to rotate and even zoom In and zoom out as well those are all Pretty cool features you've got the Micro SD card that you can save to and The articulating oh not articulating but The rotating screen as well so you can Digitally rotate that screen or you can Manually turn it to the best position That works for you as well you get a Nice four foot lead a small you know 40 Or 400 thousandths or four tenths of an
Inch as far as diameter on the lens Itself so that's going to fit in some Pretty tight spaces however let me Caution you as a mechanic before you buy Something like this which obviously it Would work well for you and by the way The price on this is 229 dollars all in For the kit it comes with the single two Amp hour battery the M12 charger the Case and the M Specter camera with the Accessories is only 229 bucks comes with A five year warranty so not a bad deal But as a mechanic you may want to hold Off because actually we just went to a Show a week or two ago and we actually Saw the mechanics version of this which Is coming with a lot smaller camera a Lot smaller lead as well as you'll have A 180 degree camera so no mirror needed You'll actually have an LED light and a Camera lens on the side at 90 degrees as Well as straight out as well so really Cool inspection camera borsko met Specifically for the mechanics so again You may want to hold off and wait for That one to come out which I believe is Going to be another couple of months so Stay tuned on that we'll be sure to get It in our hands and review it as well But as far as the M Specter this is a Great tool we love it again at 229 Dollars that's not a bad deal all in so Check it out for yourselves also keep Track of us on Instagram Facebook
