2.35 Horsepower! Milwaukee M18 FUEL Telescoping Pole Saw Video [3013-20]

We first got a look at this new Milwaukee M18 FUEL Telescoping Pole Saw at the Pipeline event back in August at Milwaukee headquarters. With 2.35 horsepower on tap from the 18V battery and brushless motor, the 10″ bar chain rotates at 25 meters per second. We easily cut through live oak branches up to 11″ in diameter. The Milwaukee 3013 telescoping pole saw should be available in November 2023.

Can you really get almost two and a half Horsepower from a battery powered P Saw this is the Milwaukee M18 fuel Telescoping pole saw goes from 9 ft up To 13 ft supposed to have a ton of power They claim like 2.35 horsepower and a Lot of chain feed as well now let's talk About the features with an up close look At each one of these components and then We'll use it and come back and talk About pricing warranty and what we Thought of it this is the brand new Milwaukee pole saw it's their model Number 3013 so 3013 D20 if you want just The tool which will come with the Obviously the base and the head there um Bar and chain minus the battery uh Everything else will come so bear Tool Uh 33-20 and if you want the kit with The 12 amp hour HD battery uh that's Going to be the -21 so 33-21 this is a pole saw that extends From 9 F feet to 13 ft and this is the Way it comes so it comes with the head Off of it uh obviously chain and bar off Of it and strap as well so we'll put all That on here in one second so let's go Ahead and mount the head on it get the Bar and chain on it and then we'll look At all the different Features so without reading the Instructions I believe we just pull this Cap off and then basically we kind of Got a star pattern I believe there's a

Cap here yeah so those splines line up With these splines Here and it I'm assuming it doesn't Matter oh yes it does have you can see That squarish oval there so square with The uh with the rounded side so it's Going to go on a certain way I guess one Of four Ways and I'm assuming we may want to Mount it in the correct orientation with The head unit so that seems right right There there's only two screws these two I'm assuming the longer one is going to Go right there it may help if I read the Instructions but what fun is in That cinch that down and then I believe This is just a set screw and should Go right There I'm assuming I don't want to go Too tight I'll probably Crush that Aluminum So that should be good right There okay we get a captured nut on the Side there so that's stays in There and then we have the tensioner Here on the side as well I like that and There's your lineup Pin Make sure you get your chain on the Correct Way we got to get that line up pin all The way down to Here There we Go tension it a little

Bit looks like it just slides On And I Typically want to just see the top of Those teeth I think that's actually Pretty good we'll C it down right There and usually after running that a First couple of cuts that will actually Loosen up and be ready to T be tensioned Again but so a little tight on the Initial run out should be fine now we Get a 12in bar and chain which is going To work out to be right at 9 and 1 12 in Of actual usable space if you will um Which is not a big deal on a pole saw It's not like you're trying to take down Trees with this but you do want to be Able to cut some larger limbs um so with That 9 1 12 in Span we shouldn't have Any problem cutting six and 8 in Branches um even getting into that you Know 9 in class as well but then again You're you're working at height so you Got to be very careful on how much You're trying to bite on one cut um Obviously we get our cover as Well and then we can actually install This I like this cuz it's hinged we Don't have to just kind of spread it Out and a captured thumb screw there as Well we can clamp that around and then Hook up Our actual strap to it also and this White line right here is a sight line so

When you're looking from the ground up You can actually kind of see that white Line a lot of times your Blade's hidden It's kind of hard to see over the top of It to be able to see that blade so that Sight line gives you a direct path of of Where you're actually going to be Cutting and then we get an automatic Oiler as well so we have an oil tank Here and we'll fill that up here in a Moment before we start cutting and then We also get a metal hook as well for Reaching in pulling out limbs after you Cut them and clearing out debris so Let's go ahead and hook up our strap Holder and we can adjust that wherever We need it up and down this Shaft as to where you want your strap Hanging From now obviously we have uh the bar And chain at the other end but this is Actually where our motor is so the motor And the battery are down here uh where You're going to have basically the most Weight and then just there's a shaft That runs all the way through and then Basically a small transmission and your Uh Barn chain and sprocket doing the Work on the other end so right here Obviously this is where our battery is Going to hook up but also right here on The saw The scrinch is on board and stays in Place so pretty cool that that's there

And ready to use if we need to loosen up That bar nut actually set the tension on The blade that's right there and ready Just pull the battery out and then pull The scrinch out and you're good to go It's also pretty cool that kind of you Have to remove that battery to be able To access this so that keeps you out of A pinch hopefully and then we basically Have a a hanging place right here where We can hang this up the other cool thing Is this thing is designed in such a way It's it's nice and slim this will Actually fit in a piece of 6 in um Conduit so a lot of times you'll see Those 6in pieces of PVC on work trucks You can literally slide this whole thing In there put a cap on it put a lock on It and now it's stored away the whole Thing inside that tube so that is really Cool got a handle here on this end as Well and then here to operate this a Simple dead man switch if you will to Push this forward and push it down and And then we grab a hold of the trigger And activate um the the motor that's Obviously if we have a battery in it to Extend this saw we just basically turn This slide this out to where we want It lock this back down and we're good to Go so real big and easy to use Lock slide that back In lock it down now we get up to 25 m/s On the Chain speed and up to 2.35

Horsepower power and let's see what that Translates to into actually cutting Performance now I know this is probably 9 ft uh from tip to tail but I really Want to measure to the handle and then Extend it out and measure what we're Getting to the handle I think that's a True representation of actual uh cutting Length if you Will so from tip of the saw to the Handle is right at 90 in so about 7 and 1/2 ft to the handle yes to the end of The saw it's 2 in short of 9 ft and then With this saw extended all the way uh 140 to the actual handle so just short Of 12 ft and yeah right at 13 ft to the Back handle here now the other thing not Taken into account is how high you're Holding this off the ground when you're Actually extending it so you're probably Going to get a lot more reach than just 13 ft because you're probably holding This somewhere around your waist and Then getting that 12 1/2 ft on top of That but just again wanted to give you That true representation of what that Length is so let's get some oil in This and you see the translucent tank Where we can actually see the level of The oil in the tank without taking that Lid Off first thing I'm going to run this Saw make sure I've got oil in the blade So you can clearly see the sight line on

That blade or the sight line on the body To line up with that blade to know where You're Cutting now the last one was about 12 ft Off the ground and this one's only about 9 ft off the Ground It is just eating right through that 8 In plus Branch W And you can see here on this at the Narrow part it's almost 10 in 9 in Plus On the wide part right at a foot pretty Solid a little rotten around the edge There but pretty solid oak all the way Through and this thing just powering Right Through No doubt this thing really rips at 25 m/ Second you can tell right away when you Pull the trigger that it reaches full Speed in less than 1 second and just by The sound and the were of the chain you Know that it's moving faster than most Chainsaws you pick up so it cuts through The wood really quick now when you're Getting into that larger items like you Know 8 in and getting close to 9 and 10 In is it going to start bogging down yes Absolutely but you're surpassing the Maximum expected of this chainsaw we Actually cut some Oak that was much Bigger than the actual size of the bar

And chain itself we still cut through it But you could notice a little bit of Slowdown rather than in the you know 4 And 6 in stuff it just rips right Through and you want that fast chain Speed because when you're holding that Thing overhead or out in front of you Even though it is pretty light for say a 13t saw you want it to cut through Rather quickly and get the job done and That's exactly what it does now pricing On this is $599 for the bare tool so if You get the 33-20 it's going to run $5.99 if you get The 33-21 you're going to get a 12 amp Hour HD battery as well as a rapid Charger and the saw that's going to run You $799 we'll have a link in the Description they should be out sometime Uh in November and so look for it in the Stores as well as online also keep track Of us on Instagram Facebook Twitter and Even Tik Tok and if you you don't mind Would you hit that like And subscribe Button if you haven't done so already And by all means if you hated our video Well give us a thumbs down but would you Let us know in the comments why have a Great day and keep Smiling
