I've had tons of requests to test angle Grinder attachments you can do all sorts Of things including a chainsaw a drill And even a hedge trimmer well let's see Which of these attachments are sketchy And which ones actually work we've got All sorts of attachments to compare from Chainsaws to Circular saws and some are Very very sketchy While others look Pretty legit we'll also see which type Of abrasive attachment is the best for Removing heavy rust and even paint at a Price of $12 is this drill adapter the Drill adapter is made in China you can Use this attachment to turn your angle Grinder into an electric drill it claims To have a three jaw Chuck that's firm Clamping made of high carbon deal Unfortunately I don't have an angle Grinder that has a 10 mm Arbor I have Quite a few angle grinders and they all Have 5hn Arbors so I do have an adapter That has to be adapted so the adapter Will work with the grinder I'll also use A 5/8 in grade8 nut to serve as a Coupler a typical drill spins at 2 to 3,000 RPM however a grinder spins about Three times as fast unfortunately There's way too much wobble from things Being out of alignment definitely off to A very sketchy start and 10,000 RPM for A drill is just way too fast fortunately I bought a 4-in angle grinder locally That has 10 10 mm threads but the angle

Grinder has the wrong thread pitch so I'll have to use a thread tap to reshape The threads this is definitely not a Perfect fix but it'll get the job done As Cousin Eddie likes to say good enough For government work and the Chuck seems Perfectly aligned with the angle grinder Shaft let's see how it performs anyway Drilling through a 2×4 with a 38 in Drill bit and the angle grinder drill Attachment doesn't waste any time and Made very quick work of drilling through The 2×4 to prevent the drill from Walking I'll make an indentation in the/ Quinch flat iron I'll go ahead and use a Cobalt split Point twist drill bit I Apply a lot of downward Force to prevent The drill bit from work hardening the Mild steel and it's only 3.6 seconds to Drill the hole I definitely don't Recommend the drill 10,000 RPM is just Way too fast at a price of $25 is this Chainsaw attachment it has a 12-in bar I'm really surprised that this thing Actually has an Oiler comes with three Different adapters there's a rubber Collar that has to be installed in order To mount the chainsaw attachment the Bracket doesn't seem to be sliding down Far enough onto the angle grinder head To mount securely but I'll try it anyway The handle is definitely needed for this Setup the guard is held in place by two Screws after powering up the Chainsaw

For about a second the chainsaw came Loose from the angle grinder it's a Pretty sketchy setup I'll go and try This Black and Decker angle grinder it's A much better fit with the black Inductor angle grinder and it should Stay together properly The Fill port for The oer is very small let's first cut Through a pressure treated 4×4 and make Three passes I wear some very thick Welding gloves just in case the chain Comes off and wraps around my hand or Arm and the Black and Decker angle Grinder isn't very powerful however it's Making very high chain speed and the Chainsaw attachment blasted through the 4×4 in only 4 seconds on the first first Attempt and the chainsaw attachment is Almost as fast on the second attempt 4.4 Seconds is still a very good time for a Small chainsaw and it's 4.4 seconds on The third pass so the average time for The three passes is about 4.26 seconds And the oiler doesn't seem to be oiling The chain so I powered up the angle grer In the chainsaw attachment for an extra Minute and there's no oil reaching the Chain let's see how this bar chainsaw Performs compared to the attachment it Has a 10-in bar and the chain is as good As new and the Harbor Freight bar Chainsaw doesn't make nearly as much Chain speed as the angle grinder and the Chainsaw attachment unfortunately I

Pushed the saw a little too hard in the Chainsaw stalled and the buer is finally Finished on the first attempt at 7.5 Seconds and the barer once again is Really struggling with torque and chain Speed once again I push the saw just a Little too hard and at 7.7 seconds on The second cut and I finally finished The third cut without stalling the saw And the bar made the Final Cut in 6.1 Seconds fully cured oage orange which is Also known as Hedge Apple is very hard Let's go and compare cutting speeds Unfortunately I didn't make a clean cut On the first attempt so I have to try it Again and the barer is really struggling To cut through the Hedge Apple the wood Is very hard and the barer has just Enough torque and chain speed to make The cut and a chainsaw attachment seems To be getting held back by the angle Grinder it seems to have more than Enough build quality to survive a Stronger angle grinder however the Chainsaw is bouncing around quite a bit But it is probably because of the Hardness of the wood and a chainsaw Attachment made the cut in just under 20 Seconds or about 10 seconds faster than The bow all four deck screws that were Holding the login Place Twisted off when I tried to remove them that's some very Hard wood I wouldn't recommend buying The chainsaw attachment unless Le you're

Sure it'll work with your angle grinder And you'll also have to manually oil the Chain before and during use at a price Of $19 is this circular saw the cutting Angle can be adjusted from 0 to 45° you Can also adjust the cutting depth made In China I'll use the Harbor Freight Angle grinder for the circular saw Attachment unfortunately the Harbor Freight isn't going to work the adapter Housing won't tighten up enough to Secure itself to the grinder fortunately I have a cordless Makita angle grinder That'll work to install the blade I'll Have to loosen up the mounting bracket And slide it off the grinder the saw has A 4-in blade which allows for an in and A/ qu cutting depth I'll use a 5 a hour Battery in the angle grinder let's see How the saw performs cutting through 1in Oak and the angle grinder has plenty of Torque and blad speed to make easy work Of the oak even though I can't use the Side cover I'll see if the dust Collector Works without the side cover In place the dust bag is not inflating 3.4 seconds to make the cut I'll goad And see how fast I can make a cut and 1.75 seconds is actually pretty good While it's definitely not a fair test Let's go and compare the cutting speed Of an 18vt Milwaukee fuel saw with a 7 1/4 in Blade about 1 second on the first Attempt and it's 0.8 seconds on the

Second attempt I wouldn't recommend Buying the circular saw attachment Unless you know it'll fit your angle Grinder it's also designed for very Light duty applications at a price of $59 are these hedge trimmers it includes An 18-in double hardened steel blade They claim it could get a/2 in Branch We're going to test that it has a 12 Position articulating head for hard to Reach angles made in China the HED Trimmer only works with a 10 or 12 mm Armor and the Makita that I just Purchased has a 10 mm Arbor however I Have to tap the nut with a 1.25 thread Pitch I definitely don't want this Attachment flying off the grinder while It's in use so I have to go aad and Notch the bracket since a couple of the Screws are in the way a rotary tool in a Bur bit will make very quick work of it After making two notches the bracket Fits nicely there's a handle bracket That fits onto the top of the hedge Trimmer and the hedge trimmer attachment Is supposed to be able to cut through a Halfin piece of wood so let's put that Claim to the test let's see if the hedge Trimmers can cut through a/2 in wooden Dow I've had this black and& Decker Hedge trimmer for a long time and the Black IND Decker is really struggling to Make the cut it took a while but it Finally cut through the wooden Dow and a

Hedge trimmer attachment has a much Larger cut capacity and they're making Very easy work of the/ in Dow I've got a Small farm with a fence line that needs Some Attention and the old Black & Decker Hedge trimmers are pretty slow to make The cut but they're getting the job Done and the larger diameter capacity of The hedge trimmer attachment is really Helping and the hedge trimmer attachment Is cutting about four times as quickly As the old hedge trimmers Osage orange Saplings are full of some pretty nasty Thorns the size of the saplings is just Under a/ in and the Black & Decker needs About 4 and 1/2 seconds to make the cut And the HED trimmer attachment is making Very quick work of the O Jo saplings so The hedge trimmer attachment did Performed well but it did take quite a Bit of modification to get it going Unfortunately I can't recommend buying The hedge trimmers unless you have the Right angle grinder with a 10 mm Arbor We'll be testing two different belt Sanders the first one cost $40 they Claim you can easily make your angle Grinder function like a belt sander it Has a 5/8 x 11 thread the angle grinder Head attachment has to be less than 42 Mm in diameter to install unfortunately The belt sander did not come with Instruction however it's pretty

Intuitive the belt CER is made in China I'll be using a 4/2 in rigid angle Grinder for the review I'll first Install the belt drive pulley the belt Sanding attachment fits nicely on the Grinder and the belt sander belt Tensioner seems to be applying the right Amount of tension on the belt and the Belt is staying on track and seems to be Functioning properly let's see how the Belt sander performs on Oak with 60 grit Sandpaper and the belt is moving at a Very high velocity and the belt sander Is actually working a lot better than I Had anticipated it's offering very good Control no abnormal vibrations or any Other performance issues it's actually Doing a good job it looks like a pretty Good job with 60 grit sandpaper let's See how the belt sander performs on Taking the edge off this quarter-inch Mild Steel and the belt on the sander is Holding up and is actually doing a good Job it doesn't work nearly as fast as a Flap disc but it does offer pretty good Control once again the belt Sounder is Working better than anticipated let's Flip over the steel and see how this 36 Grit 3M flap disc performs on the mild Steel I'll use a battery powered Milwaukee fuel angle grinder and a flap Disc definitely works a lot faster than The belt sander but there seems to be

Less control compared the belt sander so When it comes to a quick removal rate The flap disc is the way to go however The belt sander is a very affordable Tool that might come in handy in some Applications the second belt sander will Be testing cost $60 the triangle design Of this adapter allows you to sand the Surface of a tube or pipe more easily And completely the kit comes with 60 120 240 400 and 600 grit belts it claims to Be a professional tool for moving metal Rust it's designed for a standard Arbor With a 5/8 11 thread pitch the kit does Not include assembly instructions but it Seems pretty intuitive made in China There's quite a bit of variance on the Head attachment size of most angle Grinders I have a corded Makita angle Grinder that'll work well with the Attachment the build quality this Attachment seems to be good and should Be very durable assembly is quick and Easy and installing the belt takes Minimal effort and it took under 5 Minutes and the belt is ready to go Let's see how the belt sander works on Removing paint from this round steel Tubing if you need a belt sander for Cleaning up pipe or round object the Belt sander is definitely doing a great Job it's definitely performing better Than anticipated and seems to be a legit Tool very nice looking finish much

Faster and more consistent than an Orbital sander let's see how the belt Sander performs on taking off a sharp Edge from this Tubing and the belt is holding up to the Sharp edge just fine a flap disc would Definitely be a much better option since It has a much faster material removal Rate once again the belt sander Performed very well this round stock has Some very deep and nasty rust and should Really put the belt sand to the Test and the angle grinder is really Making a lot of belt speed and the Sanding attachment is making very quick And easy work of the rust it's Definitely performing better than Anticipated and that's a pretty nice Finish using a flap disc is a little More tricky and challenging for creating An evenly sanded surface of all the Tools tested so far this is a tool that I'll definitely use in the future for Removing paint and rust from pipes and Rounded material at a price of $21 is This wood chisel attachment the Attachment comes with two different Chisels unfortunately this attachment Also has the M10 threads which will make It very very difficult to use unless you Have the right grinder I'll have to cut The proper thread pitch to make this Attachment work with the grinder with The 10 mm Arbor the wood chisel set does

Not come with the set of instructions But putting together seems pretty Intuitive the angle grinder is powered Up and the Chisel isn't doing much let's Try it anyway on a piece of Oak and the Chisel is making a little Bit of noise but it isn't making any Progress I definitely don't recommend This tool at a price of $15 is this Oscillating tool adapter made of high Carbon steel and aluminum the kit Includes an assortment of different Blades as well as sandpaper the adapter Is made in China I'll have to cut the Proper thread pitch for the part that Attaches to the arbor to allow it to Work with the Makita grinder that has The 10 mm Arbor this part functions like A cam shaft and creates the oscillating Action the oscillating tool attachment Does not come with assembly instructions But it's pretty simple to figure out Let's test out the tool using a 1×2 in Board and the oscillating tool Attachment made the cut in only 4 and 1/2 seconds on the first attempt and it Made the second cut in only 4 seconds Not too bad considering the price of the Tool and all the accessories that come With the kit however I just can't Recommend this kit since you have to do A lot of modification to get it to work With the grinder I'll take the blade off The attachment and I'll use the same

Blade on the battery powered Milwaukee Fuel oscillating tool it's definitely Not a fair comparison this Milwaukee Tool when the oscillating tool showdown In a previous video and it's cutting Through the board four times faster than The attachment at around 1 second very Impressive so what's the best way to Remove rust one option includes using a Flap disc and I'll be testing the 3M 36 Grit at a price of $14 for 10 disc the 3M flap disc weighs Some of these sanding wheels are likely To shed part of the metal brush and the Brush wire can embit itself inside of a Body part so it's a great idea to cover Your hands arms chest eyes and wear Respirator let's see how much progress Each type of ab bracing wheel can make In a 12 x 12 in space on this very rusty Metal each AB bracing wheel will have Right at a minute and the flap disc Started off strong but quickly lost Quite a bit of speed unfortunately rust Is very hard on sandpaper and causes a Lot of damage to it and the rust caused Quite a bit of damage to the Sandpaper On the flap disc however the flap disc Did a great job of removing the the rust From the surface however it just didn't Do much to attack the rust in the pitted Areas after 1 minute of use the flap Disc has lost 4.04 G of weight but there Is still quite a bit of flap disc

Material left at a price of $17 is this Four-piece wire wheel and cup set and It's 177.1 G and the wire brush started off strong And it seems to be staying aggressive With the r for the entire minute and the Wire brush is still in very good Condition the wire brush test area is on The left and the flap disc is on the Right the wire brush did a better job of Reaching down into the pitted areas However the flap this did a little bit Better job of removing the surface level Rust scale and the wire brush only lost 0.36 G of material so this thing should Last for hours of use the wire cup wheel Weighs 198.23 better and the wire cup lost 0.3 G and should last for hours longer 132.5 2 G and the fine wire brush doesn't seem To be removing the rust scale as well as The thicker wire brush in the cup wheel However it's doing a really good job of Reaching deep into the pitted areas and The fine wire brush lost 1.31 G are About four times as much wear and tear As the heavier brush in cup Wheels Another option for getting rid of rust Is a five-pack of strip disc for $18 It's designed to remove paint as well as Rust the new strip disc weighs 61.6 s g And a strip disc seems to perform a lot Like a flat disc but without getting

Clogged it's also doing a decent job of Reaching into the pitted areas but not As well as the fine wire brush wheel a Side by-side look and the strip wheel Seems to have done a more consistent job Than the flap disc however the strip Disc is already used up and the strip Disc started off at almost 62 G and it's Now just over 40 G that's a loss of 22 G And it's used up if you're trying to Remove some Rust what about these Scaring pads which cost $20 for 10 Pieces the manufacturer claims that They're excellent for REM moving rust The new scaring pad weighs 54.6 n G and of core scaring pad is really Struggling on the rust I ended the test At 52 seconds since the scaring pad is Completely used up and the scaring pad Just didn't performed nearly as well as The other options and a scaring pad lost Almost 16 G in less than a minute at a Price of $31 is this Makita wirebrush Set the Makita wire brushes are made in Japan and it's And the Sparks are really flying with The Makita wire brush the Makita wire Brush has a larger diameter than the Offbrand that was tested first and the Makita wire brush still looks as good as New and the Makita seems to performed About the same as the red coarse wire Brush and the co wire Makita brush lost 0.74 G 226.24

G and the fine wire Makita is kicking up A lot of dust and the wire brush is Doing a great job of reaching into the Pitted areas but it's not getting rid of The heavy rust scale the Makita wire Brush has a a larger diameter than the Offbrand wire brush and the fine Makita Wire brush did a little bit better job At removing the rust than the offbrand And the fine wire Makita did hold up Quite a bit better than the offbrand Only losing 0.32 G compared to 1.31 G For the offbrand when it comes to Durability on heavy rust most of the Wire brush attachments received the Highest possible rating of one the Scaring pad in the strip disc really Struggled for rust removal from surface And pitted areas the coarse wire Makita Came in first place however the offbrand Co wire brush performed almost as well The strip disc does wear out but it Finished in third place overall for rust Removal Performance let's repeat this test and Compare the Speed and Performance for Paint removal beginning with 3m flap Disc and the flap disc is very quick but There's a lot of Sparks so the flap disc Is removing a lot of metal and not just The Paint and the wire wheel seems to be as Fast as a flap disc at removing paint About 58 seconds for one square foot the

Metal is not as shiny since the brush is Not carving too deeply into the metal And the offbrand coarse wire wheel is on The left and the flap disc is on the Right the coar wire wheel did a much Better job at removing just the paint Without harming the metal however there Are some minor Abrasions and the off-band co cup wheel Isn't nearly as fast as the wire wheel Design however it is doing a good job at Paint removal and a minute of time is up And the cup is only about 80% finished And both course wire sanding options Look about the Same and the offbrand fine brush wire Wheel just isn't cutting very quickly Changing the angle the approach helps a Lot as the small wires become dull Quickly and it's about 80% finished with The job after 1 minute and the fine Brush test area is on the left and the Co cup wheel is on the right and the Fine brush cause less damage to the [Music] Metal and the off- brand fine cup wheel Just isn't making very quick progress However it is leaving a pretty smooth Finish without causing too much damage To the metal about 80% complete after 1 Minute the amount of damage to the metal Is pretty minor and is about the same is The fine brush Wheel and a strip disc is making the

Quickest progress yet at removing the Paint and a strip disc is finished in 42 Seconds fortunately the disc held up Just fine for paint removal the flap Disc test area is on the left and the Strip disc is on the right the strip Disc caused a lot less damage to the Metal and a scaring pad is making about The same rate of progress as the coarse Wire wheel however it's leaving a very Smooth finish and a scaring pad finished The job in 58 seconds the scaring pad Test area is on top and the strip disc Is on the bottom compared to all the Other options the scaring pad has caused The least amount of damage to the metal Yet and of course wire Makita disc is Making very quick work of the paint While the Makita does look like the Off-brand disc it has a larger diameter Which means more impact speed and the Makita is the fastest yet at 38 seconds And a test area for the cor gript Makita Is on top and the scaring pad is on the Bottom the Makita cause a lot more Damage to the Metal and the fine wire Makita brush is Removing the paint a little bit faster Than the off-brand fine wire brush However it's not nearly as fast as the Coarse wire Makita the fine wire Makita Left a smoother finish than the co wire Makita while it is a subjective Assessment the scaring pad came in on

Top for causing the least amount of Damage to the metal the offbrand and the Makita fine wire brushes finished in Second place if it's all about speed the Co grip Makita is the fastest but the Strip disc is almost as fast the pipe Sanding attachment was very interesting And I also enjoyed testing the various Types of abrasive Wheels to see which One worked the best on rust and paint All the videos in this channel including This one are viewers suggested so if you Have a video idea I hope you'll take Time to leave a comment thanks so much For watching please take care and look Forward to next time
