The Belt Disc grinder combo probably one Of the most overlooked tools to actually Purchase for a shop [Music] This is the skill model bb 9504 and it's the Belt Disc grinder or The belt slash Disc Sander runs Basically you got a belt sander on the Top you got a Disc Sander on the side Then you can actually set angles on this As well and then you've got kind of a Tool guard and finger guard here on the Top we'll get into all that as well as a Dust Port here on the back I think this Is one of those tools that is most Overlooked when you're looking to add Tools to a shop or looking to buy tools That might help your life more in the Shop whether it be with sanding whether It be with grinding whether it be metal Or wood and you don't have to spend a Fortune now yes if you're needing you Know some really good shaping equipment For metal or for wood then you probably Already know what you're looking for and This is not that tool but there are many Shops they don't have anything like this And so taking that first step into a Machine like this this is a great first Step so this skill maybe 9504 is one of Those kind of First Step machines into That belt slash disc grinder sander Whatever you want to call this so let's Take a closer look at this then we'll
Actually use it on a few things then Come back and talk about pricing and Warranty and what we thought of it this Is the skill model number Bb9504 and it's their Belt Disc Sander It's exactly what it says it is it has a Belt sander on the top kind of a Combination and has a Disc Sander here On the side there's some different Features where you can actually adjust a Lot of this we'll show this here in just One moment you've probably seen one of These before you've probably used one of These before anyway this is a very Simple tool a little bit more Complicated than just a single Disc Sander or a single belt sander but Really not that complicated and it's not Hard to use easy to set up and it's just A great tool to have around the shop Because it does a variety of tasks that You know say a hand sander or a hand Grinder or something like that just Doesn't do as well and it's nice to have It on a bench top or even on a stand if You want to build it that way anyway Wanted to go over this now there's also Some much more uh shall we say more Futuresque or more luxurious or more Industrially made belt and disc Sanders But there are a lot more money this is Definitely on that more value-ended Scale but still going to accomplish Several tasks in the shop for you in
Fact this is one of those tools that Once you have it you realize that you Could have done many other things with It so once you have one around you'll Find more and more uses for it real Quickly this table comes with it as well As the angle gauge here as well as this Little table goes up here on the top We'll install that here in one moment You got a simple power switch here we're Not plugged in so we can stay safe there And we got the safety switch so we can Pull that out and kind of lock the tool And the off position if we need to some Adjustment here where we can adjust and Trim the belt or true the belt and and Again we'll go over some different Things in a moment but pretty much Everything you see here in the Allen Wrench 2 is what you get with this kit We also have a dust Port here in the Back and let's get an overall Measurement of this tool by the way this Is a four inch by 36 inch belt very Common belt size so you can find those Belts and if you you know mainly work With metal you can get some better metal Sanding belts if you will to put on here If you work with wood you may want to Stick with some whatever brand you like To use you should be able to find a 4×36 Belt that's not going to be a problem as Well as a six inch disc again we know That's very very common and that's just
Going to stick on with adhesive that's Just an aluminum plate there so again This is all very common stuff it's not Going to be any industrially standard Stuff or I'm sorry it's not going to be Any proprietary stuff that is just a Skill you're going to be able to run the Accessories that you want to run on here Or run the sanding materials that you Want to run on here to your likings so Again four inch by 36 inch belt six inch Disc here overall of the tool about 18 Inches long A Little Less and just short Of 11 inches about 10 and a half inches Tall and then as far as the width of the Tool let's get back here a little bit Wider right there so about a little more Than eight inches wide so not a huge Tool at all doesn't take off a lot of Floor space or desk space or workbench Space and then one more measurement Let's get that dust Port here in the Back internal is going to be Looks like two and eight probably No two and a quarter two and a quarter Internal and two and three eighths External So your vacuum hoses you'll know what Adapters to get or maybe it'll plug Right in we'll hook up a dust extractor Or a vacuum here in a few moments as Well this table here very simple to go On the dowel pin is going to go right Here and then the the bolt is going to
Go through there and it's just a little Thumb screw And as you can see right here you can Actually adjust this table to the angle You want it's not the most sturdy in the World but again It's just kind of doing some simple Tasks here and what I like to do is When I'm initially setting this up is Typically I want this Square sometimes I May put it at an angle to get some type Of you know specific profile but I'll Just throw my square up there and know Okay There we go there's There's 90. Set that up and then I'm pretty happy With that And then this here you know obviously Your markings are right here on the Actual tool Put that on there and adjust that Wherever you need to Now this top here is going to serve a Couple of purposes number one is going To act as a guide it's going to keep Things from kind of sliding off the back Which is very helpful in some Circumstances as well as going to keep Any pinch areas like right here from Your fingers getting down in there as Well I always like to make sure that I have Less than an eighth inch of Gap there
You really Don't want any pinch areas there When you're sanding things but then Again you don't want that either Although it will self-clearance I Promise you it's kind of what it does So it would probably be absolutely fine After a few seconds but I'll just loosen That up I could probably take that out put it in My Vise and bend it a little bit it's Sticking up a little higher there but I Will be fine with that Now this is a four and a half amp motor And turns I believe 3600 RPM I'm not Sure what the feet per minute is on the Belt but again this is kind of a Beginner novice slash you know Um just kind of value oriented sander so I'm not real particular on all the Features other than it just needs to Work So let's go ahead and plug this in okay I've got it plugged in I'm going to do a Couple of things here let me turn it Just a bit and you'll see we'll turn This on stay clear of it By the way word of advice make sure that Your disc this comes with the disc Already stuck to it make sure it's on There really well because it will like To spin that like a Frisbee and throw it Across the shop if it's not so make sure It's stuck really well and then we're
Going to watch on this belt too when we First fire it up make sure it doesn't Walk off to one side or the other So it looks like that it's riding pretty True on here you will see this knob Right here that is actually going to Adjust uh the trim or the tune of this Belt so we'll look right here so we'll Look straight on at it and we'll turn it On And you see we're riding a little left Of center You can see with just a eighth turn of The knob it rode that back over we're a Little bit too far There we go Now we're good so now we're riding nice And true in the middle of those pulleys [Applause] Now also Here on the other side there is an allen Screw or a hex head or whatever you want To call this Fastener and with your Saint allen wrench that we installed Some of the stuff with loosen this And then we can adjust this wherever we Want to we may even want to put it Straight up if we want to to kind of Grind on the face or we can leave it Laying down or if we wanted to leave it At an angle then I could tighten this up [Music] And that will hold shape there or I can Loosen it up
And let that come on back down So keep your allen wrench handy because Then you can actually adjust that table Wherever you need to now speaking of the Table I'm calling this a table this is Where basically you have a A metal underlayment right here that's Acting as a table where you can grind Flat against or sand flat against and That table size is about From the guard almost 11 inches in Length you see you have all this working Area if you will to lay something flat To get a good profile on without you Know having any curves or anything like That the other thing is you can use this Front side as as well to put in kind of A round profile or sand something that You need to get the profile that you Need all right let's run a couple of Things on here It's on the disk here if I want to take A piece of wood And I could use my guide here as well [Music] Foreign Works nice and quick you saw we were Creating a lot of dust so for that let's Go ahead and hook up a dust extractor I say a dust extractor in the form of a Rigid vacuum how's that Looks like that fits right in there on My Ridgid shop vac so that should work Well
[Applause] Maybe we'll try suction this time [Music] [Music] Definitely a lot less dust with the Vacuum slash dust extractor running so Hooking up a vacuum is definitely going To keep things kind of toned down as far As dust flying around the air is it Going to catch everything on this no but It does do a decent job of catching some Of this anyway let's see if it'll Actually pull up from the top plate as Well from the belt sanding So we'll try it first without a dust Extractor Or without the vacuum [Music] So plenty of dust there without the Vacuum running let's run it [Applause] [Music] Foreign [Music] [Applause] So you're still going to get some dust Especially up here on the Belt you saw When we were laterally sanding or Longitudinally sanding or linked link Sanding uh sanding with the grain of This piece of wood here we're still Getting quite a bit of dust so it's not Going to catch everything but this is a Really cool little tool to have around
The shop and if you don't have one it's Definitely worth having if you're doing Any type of woodworking metal working You can really do a lot of sanding with It grinding with it and it makes things A lot easier on a lot of things Especially if you're needing to get a Nice flat profile or kind of replicate a Profile this works really well a lot Better than again picking up the hand Grinder and I know many of you can Probably work an awesome profile by hand With a hand grinder but again this will Enable you to make things flatter you Get a flat surface up here flat surface Here and then you can also adjust your Tables and adjust your guards to as you Need it we think this hit the nail on The head for where we thought it was Going to be it's that entry-level Machine but at the same time for those Shops that don't use it a ton it will be Absolutely fine to live there forever And get used when it needs to get used But this is also one of those machines That when you do have it you start Realizing wow I could use this for that And I could use this for that and so Forth and so on well there again it'd be Even acrylic you may be using it for That as well so very handy machine again If you're looking for something that's Really futurist and that's very very Sturdy and very heavy and a lot more you
Know dust extraction worthy it's going To keep dust down and again this is not That machine but you're going to look at Machines that are 10 times this much or More so let's talk about pricing this is Like 179 dollars this is a four and a Half amp 3600 RPM machine again running A four inch by 36 inch belt and a six Inch disc on the side so for less than 200 bucks you're in with this and you Get a three year war Authority so again You know if you use this a few years and Have to replace it it's not killing you By any means so check it out for Yourself we'll have a link in the Description let us know what you're Using in the shop also let us know if Hey did you hate our video then give us A thumbs down but otherwise would you do Us a favor and hit that thumbs up button And that like button and by all means be Sure to follow us on Instagram Facebook Twitter and even Tick Tock Hey listen Have a Merry Christmas have a happy New Year keep smiling
